Ghris Garrett took over from an injured Fred Reid late in the 2011 season as the number one running back wi th the Winnipeg Blue bombers. After a stgrong performance, things looked good for Garrett and he was slated to be the starter in 2012 with the release of Reid. Unfortunately, Garrett was injured in the pre-season and ended up missing the entire 2012 season. Garrett returned to the Bombers in 2013, but could not unseat Chad Simpson who had taken over his spot while he was injured. The Bombers released Garrett early in the 2013 season and he was picked up by the Saskatcheewan Roughriders as an insurance policy against injuries. Garrett got his chance to play in game 12 against BC after starter Kory Sheets went down with an injury in the previous game.
